GO COUGARS!

  1. MISSION:
In our classroom we are accepting of each person. We respect each other and are kind to one another. Making good choices and using self control are what we do everyday. It is a special privilege to help students learn new skills and develop healthy relationships. My goal is to prepare students for the future and offer them a supportive and safe environment. I believe every person can, and will learn and that learning is enjoyable and a lifelong pursuit. We will live the Babeck Way everyday: be ready, be safe, be positive, be respectful.

2. ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY: This information tells about the acceptable use of technology within our school district.http://www.edgewoodschools.com/pdf/forms/community/Edgewood_AUP_2008.pdf

3. GRADING POLICY:
I grade all work. However I do not include a grade in progressbook for every assignment. If a concept is new, I will use the scores to help me gage what we need further work on. Grades entered in progressbook will be for assignments we have had plenty of practice with, and that most all students can do well on.
I check all homework.

If a student is absent, they will be given an opportunity to make-up work. Please let me know in advance if students will be out of school for an extended time, if possible. This lessens the load of work they need to make-up all at once.

I give weekly timed tests of math facts. They last 1 minute and contain 30 problems. These are graded but are not placed in progressbook. Memorizing math facts will make learning math more automatic and hence easier. Timed tests encourage students to memorize facts and offer them a fun way to challenge themselves.

Just remember to do your best and you will always succeed!
